Our Mehikari (greeneye fish) is a deep-sea fish from northeastern Japan. The meat is soft and juicy with just the right amount of fat. It has a clean, fresh aroma and is perfect for frying, grilling, or marinating. The fish are a great size for individual servings at an izakaya or a street food-style omakase spot. This product is un-breaded, giving you the flexibility to prepare it however you like.
Usage
Thaw the fish slowly in the refrigerator (0-5°C) or in a sealed bag in cold water for 10-15 minutes.
You can prepare it as karaage, shioyaki (salt-grilled), marinated in sauce, or even in a Japanese-style hot pot.
It is perfect for serving whole or sliced depending on the dish.
Storage
Store in a freezer at -18°C.
Once thawed, use immediately within 24 hours.
Do not refreeze to maintain the quality of the fish.
